Certified Tech Prep (CTP) - Commercial & Light Commercial Refrigeration
This advanced-level course is designed for HVACR technicians with a moderate to extensive level of experience in commercial and light commercial refrigeration systems, preparing them for both the Commercial Refrigeration Service Specialty certification exam (NATE) and the Light Commercial Refrigeration Professional exam (HVAC Excellence). The course covers critical topics such as system components, refrigeration cycles, defrost methods, evaporator and condenser performance, metering devices, and system controls. Participants will also explore installation techniques, service procedures, temperature and pressure diagnostics, and troubleshooting strategies specific to walk-in coolers, reach-in freezers, and other commercial applications.
While the course includes a study guide offering an overview and topic-specific information, it differs from the more comprehensive, subject-specific courses available through other learning campus resources. The primary focus here is on exam-style questions designed to closely mirror those found on certification exams. These questions, along with detailed explanations, are key to helping participants solidify their understanding of the topics covered. For some users, the practice questions and explanations will be a crucial tool for mastering the material, while others may find more value in the study guide itself. To each their own, as whichever learning tool works best will support your studies.
For further study and deeper exploration, the "Recommended Associated Courses" listed at the end of each module are available for those seeking to expand their knowledge beyond the scope of this course.
