Introducing the final step in becoming a Certified Technician in Light Commercial Refrigeration: The Light Commercial Refrigeration Certified Technician Program is designed to prepare learners for the Light Commercial Refrigeration Certification Exam.
The Light Commercial Refrigeration Specialty Exam evaluates knowledge on the installation, service, maintenance, and repair of HVACR systems. To become HVAC Excellence certified, you first need to pass a Core exam followed by the Light Commercial Refrigeration Specialty exam.

- 114 Electrical Motors (21 hours)
- 121 System Properties & Measurement (18 hours)
- 141 Refrigeration I (18 hours)
- 143 Refrigeration Cycle Service Procedures (9 hours)
- 441 Commercial Refrigeration I for HVAC Techs (24 hours)
- 441 Commercial Refrigeration II for HVAC Techs (18 hours)
- 241 Intro to Cooling System Troubleshooting (18 hours)
- 242 R-410A Refrigerant Technology (18 hours)
- EPA 608 Certification Prep (12 hours)
- EPA 608 Exam (included in the program price)
Upon successfully completing the Light Commercial Refrigeration Certified Technician program or the HVAC Excellence Professional certificate with a score of 70% or higher, you’ll receive a voucher to take the HVAC Excellence Professional Certification Exam — with the exam cost included in your program. The HVAC Excellence pathway certification is your choice.
